Spring Rains Are Keeping Our Trees Growing
Spring Rains Are Keeping Our Trees Growing
Thanks to the ample Spring rains our 130 planted live oaks are growing and thriving in the community. Our volunteers take time on weekends to water our trees and adjust the “tree gators”. It’s a labor of love that takes a lot of time.
Would you like to volunteer to help water trees this summer?
All that is needed are a few hours to go to your “adopted tree” every week and give it a little drink of water.
Please contact us for details.
Update Georgia Arbor Day:
Thirty more trees planted in Richmond Hill on Georgia Arbor Day!
Coastal Bryan Tree Foundation Annual Winter Planting Day was a huge success.

It was a great day — the weather was clear, although it started a bit cold. Thanks to Ashlee Potts and Linda Barker for providing drinks, fresh perked coffee and donuts as more than 50 volunteers gathered at the Richmond Hill Museum for the Coastal Bryan Tree Foundation Annual Winter Planting Day.
Mark Gerrald of Gerrald’s Heating and Air provided a backhoe, as did Gene Brogdon, Ted Flake and OMI (the City of Richmond Hill). Those backhoes really helped make it easier on the human backs as we dug holes to plant 30 nice 3″ diameter Live Oaks.
Richmond Hill High School Students worked to plant twenty of the trees on school property. The Boy Scouts were also big help as they worked on a related merit badge project.
After a break for lunch in J. F. Gregory Park, the teams resumed work and by 4:30 p.m. the last of the trees were staked, watered and mulched.
Come back to the page soon for more details, pictures ands video clips.
Remember, if you missed it this year mark it on your calendar for next year. The Coastal Bryan Tree Foundation Winter Planting is always the 3rd Saturday in February.
